Welders, Carpenters, and Maintenance Workers are always welcome and needed to help build new enclosures and structures for the animals as well as renovations around the facility. Any way you can help out at the Wildlife Center, you will be sure to have an up-close and enriching experience with our amazing animals.
Volunteering at Fragile Planet is about educating the public and helping our facility to further expand and improve. It is a unique opportunity to involve yourself in a myriad of zoological opportunities including building/carpentry, horticulture, animal care, diet prep, and even conservation. Applicants should enjoy working outdoors and interacting with others, especially the public. You must be 18 years of age or older, responsible, and reliable.
As a Docent, you will be required to commit yearly and go through a minimum of 20 hours of training to start. Once fully trained, docents must be able to commit to a minimum of 1 hour per week. You will learn about all the species of animals we house and their individual personalities. You will also be expected to learn about our conservation programs and help the organization in fulfilling its mission and vision. Docents must submit a $50 application fee and will receive a work shirt once accepted into the program.
We are a wildlife center specializing in the care and needs of animals from around the world. We offer personal, educational interactions with wildlife to help humans create a life-long bond with animals.
